Innovative, sustainable, economical- your entry into the world of carbon concrete

Carbon concrete is revolutionizing concrete construction: lighter and corrosion-free, it replaces conventional steel reinforcements and enables the production of thinner, more resource-efficient precast elements.

Why carbon concrete?

  • Corrosion-free: No rust – 100-year guarantee of durability.
  • Lightweight & strong: Less weight with several times better load-bearing capacity.
  • Sustainable: Less material used, smaller CO2-footprint, less cement.
  • Forming: Enables more filigree and innovative designs.
  • Safety: Less risk of structural failure in infrastructure applications, for example.
  • Modular design: Cost-efficient, serially prefabricated concrete elements.

The first approved carbon fiber grid reinforcement!

Precast carbon-fiber reinforced concrete components can be planned, designed and built using approved reinforcement products in accordance with the recognized rules of technology and the guideline from DAfStb.

What can you build with them? Bridge slabs, balcony slabs, parking garage slabs, facade panels, window sills, sunshades or privacy screens and much more!

aboutArticle
Material properties & processing
  • Special concrete mix designs required? ➔ No, normal concrete from C20/25 to C70/85 can be used.
  • Tensile strength several times higher than steel ➔ Therefore less reinforcement material is needed.
  • Carbon mats and grids are significantly lighter than steel ➔ This makes processing easier and more pleasant. This means that they can theoretically float a little more easily. Our solidian GRID FIX has been specially developed to fix the reinforcement in its position, but is not always needed.
  • Adjustment of the formwork technology? ➔ No, no adjustments are necessary, but depending on the thickness of the components, less high upstands are sometimes necessary.
Concreting & processing instructions
  • The correct position of the carbon reinforcement in the formwork ➔ We recommend our solidian GRID FIX or spacers, e.g. from NEVOGA
  • Concreting with the reinforcement grid ➔ We recommend a maximum grain size of 16 mm.
  • Notes on compaction ➔ Conventional concreting tables with external vibrators or vibrating tables can be used as usual.
Tools & Equipment
  • Connection techniques for carbon reinforcement: For example Nevoga spacers “Druntereck with hook” or standard cable ties. Further information in technical information.
  • Recommended cutting tools: Cordless metal shears, for solidian REBAR also saws with conventional dust extraction.
Approvals & Guidelines
  • Current German National Technical Approvals for carbon concrete: Z-1.6.308 (solidian GRID) and Z-71.3-45 (for prefabricated parts with solidian GRID)
  • Planning guideline: “Concrete components with non-metallic reinforcement” from the DAfStb
  • Ausschreiben.de: Tender texts for your projects
Design & Static Planning
  • Our Planning center & an Excel Tool for dimensioning
  • Various Technical design examples & many years of experience of our engineers that will help you!
