In this project, an old sewer was renovated with carbon concrete, significantly extending its service life.
The reinforcement was supplied in rolls in our CARGO system for easy product handling. The roll with a width of 2.3 m had approx. 175 running meters. Cuts measuring 2.3 m x 5 m were unrolled and cut on site.
The 5-meter cuts could be rolled up and easily transported through the shaft into the sewer. The channel had a height of approx. 2.3 m so that the workers could work standing up. The structure was prepared with a layer of shotcrete, which was used to level out the unevenness of the old channel masonry. The solidian GRID Q43-CCE-38 reinforcement was then laid out in the channel from one side to the other in the curves of the structure. A suitable concrete filler was applied on top. An overlap of approx. 30 cm made it possible to renovate approx. 2 m of the sewer with one cut.
In the first section, approx. 80 m of sewer length was rehabilitated with 400 m² of reinforcement. Two further sections followed, each with 400 m² and 80 m of rehabilitation area.
It was very easy and convenient for the workers to handle the reinforcement, as it was cut to size on site and they were able to bring the lightweight material through the shaft into the sewer without much effort.
